Cavallero has been winning our hearts and loosening the veins in our brains every day for more than two years now with their velvety coffee and their Velvet Underground LP. The rustic menu has set a standard for what owners Kent and Robbie (but mainly Robbie) like to call 'the Harlem end of Smith Street' and they're not going away any time soon.
Lover
Lover is the quirky pairing of Susien Chong and Nic Briand. They design covetable femme fashion with a romantic twist. Charlotte Gainsbourg even wants to slip into their swimmers on the silver screen! Lover loves Leonard Cohen, milk chocolate and Picnic at Hanging Rock... and now they want to love you too.
Marilyn & Sons
This Prahran-based graphic design/web/advertising studio is just about the friendliest place you could work. Also the tastiest. The gang at Marilyn & Sons make one another a cooked lunch every Friday - and they run a blog about it. Click it and drool! In fact, they're so into this right now that they've replaced their entire website with an array of food porn, but trust us they also rule at design.
MOR Cosmetics
There's a lot to love about MOR Cosmetics - and we don't just mean company founder Deon Iuretigh's adorable dogs who walk around town with him when he's picking up coffees. It's the fact that a major international luxury cosmetics brand started in a warehouse off Little Lonsdale Street. And the fact that it's inspired by traditional apothecary techniques.
